Linda S. Barnes
Ms. Linda Barnes is a consultant and continuous learner specializing in international Cellular Therapies, Blood, Biologics, Quality Management, and Laboratory Systems Strengthening. She has more than 25 years’ experience in quality assurance and regulatory affairs pertaining to blood and transfusion services and tissues; research program management; and health systems strengthening. She is an implementation expert in the field of cellular therapies and blood services, ranging from first-in-class immunotherapies to delivering services in low-resource settings. She planned and implemented the nurse education model for global commercial adoption of a first-in-class immunotherapy and developed the first program for nurses to address commercial immunotherapies, including patient navigation, health education, symptom management, integration into the continuum of care. She has operated an apheresis unit, developed apheresis networks, and led commercialization strategies involving clinical teams. Over the course of her career, she has provided technical consultation on quality management for the People’s Republic of China, Uganda, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, and Turks and Caicos Islands in the British West Indies. She is active within AABB as a domestic and international assessor for BB/TS and CT and serves on the Global Transfusion Medicine Committee for the AABB. She is a board member for Performance Excellence Northwest, the Malcolm Baldrige Regional Quality organization and is a credentialed Baldrige Examiner. Ms. Barnes obtained her Master’s degree from the University of Washington in Health Services, is board-certified in Regulatory Affairs (Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society), and is currently a doctoral student in Public Health at University of Illinois—Chicago.
