Robert S. Jones
Cryoport is the industry’s most trusted provider of cold chain logistics solutions for temperature-sensitive life sciences materials, serving advanced therapy, reproductive medicine and animal health organizations around the world.
His background was initially in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Medicine and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Scientists (FIBMS) in 1986. He worked for the UK National Blood Service at their Birmingham laboratories for 10 years before moving into a commercial role with DuPont, and finally Thermo Fisher Scientific.
In 2004 he set up the Fisher Bioservices UK facility in Bishops Stortford and directed the business as General Manager, supporting over 100 advanced therapy clinical trials from Phase I to Phase III
His main areas of interest are in supply chain management of advanced therapies, cryogenic storage and packaging, and the development of innovation and technology in ultra low temperature and cryogenic workflows.
He is also a Member of the Royal Society of Biology and Member of the Institute of Clinical Research.
